#2.1 - Enemies

Introduction:

We believe that enemies in one form or another are an important aspect of every game, and it's no different in ours. We decided to not go down the path of 'Beat enemy X to progress' as it doesn't fit the style of the gameplay we have to offer, however,  we have built enemies that complement the design of our levels and create disturbances for the player, so it is very important to still take them into account as they will interfere with gameplay.

This announcement includes the three types of enemies we have on offer at the moment with levels 1 to 4, but we have plans to release more enemies in the future, including a final Boss at level 9, in accordance with the story of our game.

Flying Monster:

This kind of monster thrives in the air and is usually guarding the keys you need to finish the level. It travels from one point to another and turns to the player depending on their position. The best way to defeat this monster is to attack through the air, as the attacks coming from this monster affect the areas beneath him.

Turret:

The Turret is an enemy that loves to ambush the player, it remains hidden throughout the level until the player decides to get close enough to it, and it gets activated to surprise the player with dangerous bullets capable of dealing big amounts of damage to the player. We did not decide on any specific area to keep these enemies, however, most of the time they are present in places where player movement is crucial to advance, with the mission to force the player to redefine their strategy in order to continue unscathed. This monster can also be used to guard keys, and the player might just need to destroy it completely it order to claim the key, but don't underestimate their stationary movement as they take a larger amount of shots to get destroyed, and will hide away if you get too far from it.

Ghost:

The Ghost is a very simplistic enemy, it remains stationary awaiting for the player, however unlike the Turret it is always present and the player can quickly spot one out in the level. Do not think it's a docile monster because of the way they present themselves, because if you get too close it will run right after you, dealing considerable amounts of damage the longer you remain in contact with it. Usually, two shots are enough to destroy this monster, and his movement is restricted to his X-Axis, so be careful with the angle this monster sits on and use everything you have to your ability in order to either destroy or avoid this monster.
